2. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, username, profile photo, and other profile information you choose to provide.

Usage Data: We collect information about how you use the app, including training sessions, park visits, and interactions with other users. You can control analytics and crash reporting preferences in Tracking preferences.

Device Information: We may collect device identifiers, operating system version, and app version for analytics and troubleshooting purposes.

Location Data: With your permission, we collect location data to show nearby parks and enable location-based features. You can disable this in your device settings.

We use your information to provide and improve our services, personalize your experience, communicate with you about updates and features, ensure safety and security, and comply with legal obligations.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (EEA Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, we process your personal data based on the following legal grounds: (a) Contract — to provide and maintain the Parx service as agreed when you create an account; (b) Legitimate interests — for platform security, fraud prevention, and service improvement; (c) Consent — for location access, push notifications, and analytics where applicable; (d) Legal obligations — where processing is required to comply with applicable laws.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with service providers who help us operate the app, when required by law, or with your consent. Parx may also disclose data when necessary for safety, fraud prevention, or legal compliance, including sharing information with authorities when legally required.

Public posts, check-ins, event participation, and other community activity may be visible to other users based on your privacy settings. You control certain visibility options in the app, but should understand that content you make public can be viewed by anyone on the platform.

6. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country of residence, including outside the European Economic Area. When we transfer data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms to ensure your data remains protected.

7. Data Security & Platform Protection

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures may include encryption in transit and at rest where applicable, secure authentication, role-based access controls, and database-level row-level security. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

Parx monitors platform activity to detect and prevent abuse, harassment, fraud, scraping, dangerous behavior, and other violations of our Terms of Service. This may include automated analysis of usage patterns. Where we identify behavior that threatens community safety or platform integrity, we may restrict access or suspend accounts to protect our users.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can update your profile information in the app settings, request account deletion in app settings, and request a copy of your data through the "Download my data" feature.

9. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. When you request deletion in app settings, your account is queued and becomes eligible for permanent deletion after 30 days. Deletion is processed automatically by scheduled jobs with an in-app fallback processor, except where retention is required by law.

10. Children's Privacy

Our services are not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly.

11. Automated Processing

Parx uses automated ordering and recommendation systems for feed and discovery surfaces. We do not use an addictive infinite-engagement design and these systems do not produce legal or similarly significant effects on you.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the app or by email. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
